As a marketing and communications intern, I supported the organization’s digital growth by leading initiatives across web, email, and ad platforms. SEO & Web Optimization
During my internship at Angels Vocal Art, I identified that poor landing page performance, specifically slow load times and unclear messaging, was a major factor in the declining results of our Google Ad Grant campaigns.
I took the initiative to fully rebuild and optimize the website, improving its PageSpeed score by 28 points and restructuring key pages to better align with campaign messaging. This included rewriting on-page copy to clarify the organization’s value proposition, strengthening calls-to-action, and enhancing the site’s overall navigation and layout to support engagement-focused goals.
Recognizing that traditional conversion tracking like donations wasn’t viable under the Ad Grant’s limitations, I redefined our primary conversion event to page views—allowing the algorithm to better optimize for user engagement. This strategic shift, paired with the site improvements, played a key role in stabilizing campaign performance and increasing high-quality traffic.
